Apple IIe display problems

I just found an Apple IIe computer with an Apple /// monitor.  The IIe
has a card in it that has a wire with 4 prong connectors attached.  I
attached these connectors to the television but they did not work.  Next
I tried to connect the Apple IIe to the /// monitor with a commodore
64 video cord but that didn't work either.  What can I use to connect
the monitor that I have to the IIe?  Also, if anyone has an idea about
what the card in my computer is I would appreciate it.
