Help with Ramkeeper
Hello Everyone:
I need some help with my IIgs. I have installed the new oscillators in my
TWGS, and she screams. I have even been able to use the 60Mhz oscillator
without any problems. I don't have any of the newer ram chips for the
daughterboard cache either! Well, my problem is with my Ramkeeper. I have
a 2MB RAMGS card and a 1MB Apple GSRAM card installed on it. First of all
even with over 3MB of Ram it will not allow me to create a Rom disk equal to
or large than 1MB. How come? When I do, I get a continuous reboot cycle.
I have to unplug the Ramkeepers battery and flush it back to its original
state to get it to boot. I thought it might be the TWGS speed up but even
with the original 28Mhz oscillator in it, it still gives me this problem.
Well, ok, I set it for about 900k and I load a single floppy stripped down
version of OS5.0.4 on to it. I set my boot slot to Romdisk and then it
gives me the message "unable to load ProDos" It is on the System Disk
folder on the ramkeeper but it won't do it. Can someone please help me out
here. I'd like to use this as a make-shift HD until I can afford to buy
one. Thanks:)
