I also have a ][c - great little machine !!!
I use Apple Disk Transfer (ADT) to transfer over my programs and use the
][c's printer cable (which is actually a null modem cable) to transfer
over disks backwards and forwards. On the PC, you may need a gender
changer to get the right connection for your free serial port. (I got
around this by using the double ended end of my LapLink cable to change
the gender).
You run ADT on the PC and it can transfer itself over to the Apple ][c and
then you can run it on your ][c and your PC becomes a slave mode file
server, and you can transfer disks over very easily.
Get ADT from the Utility directory on Asimov :
ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/
If you need to transfer disks with strange formats / copy protection, get
SST as well.
