Another interesting but useless tidbit.  The reason why this and just
about everything else which comes out of Japan is duel AC frequency
capable is not for the benefit of the US/rest of the world.  The northern
part of Japan including the northern half of the main island, Honshu, runs
at 60 hertz.  The rest runs at 50 hertz.  Go figure.
