I believe formatting a ProFile is only possible on a real Apple III with
special software.

It should certainly work on a IIe running ProDOS 8.

It should except that you can't reformat it. You should still be able to
erase the drive though. I'm not sure if you can boot a ProFile on a II or
not. On the Apple III you had to boot off of a floppy first before you could
access the ProFile.

You need a driver to use an auxiliary slot RAM card as a RAM disk. The
drivers should be available on the Apple II FTP sites.

The only way you can use an Apple 3.5 Drive (non UniDisk) with a IIe is with
the Apple SuperDrive controller card (the Laser Universal Disk Controller
may be able to do it too?). This card can control any of the Apple 3.5"
drives: UniDisk 3.5, Apple 3.5 Drive or SuperDrive (the 1.4MB drive). If you
have one of these cards you are very lucky indeed; these cards are much
sought after.
