     This sort of thing is always happening to Lisa Simpson fans-- just doesn't
seem fair!

     The responses from the abuse emails has been remarkably positive. AOL and
Yahoo are definitely chapped about the misuse of their names-- something about a
lawsuite being undertaken. (And, of course, the more complaints the innocent
servers get, the stronger their claims of damage.)  One server, Virgin, replied
that the abuse violated their terms of useage and "has been dealt with".

     While it is certainly true that we can not eliminate spam on apple2
newsgroups, sending abuse@... emails helps to make spamming here a less happy
experience.
