For all its failures, the Soviet Union did an excellent job
educating its populace.  Like in the West, the Apple II
was used in schools, but in that country, all the Apple
II units were clones since the West did not export high
tech stuff there.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Pravetz (Bulgarian-
Russian Apple IIe clone).  ;-)

I would imagine, though, that the clones added quite a
significant number if you were to add them to the total.
