It depends on the condition and the original equipment/manuals
it comes with.
Recently, an Apple II system (original Apple II) was sold as a
package that it originally came from Apple as (all hardware,
manuals, and software original) to a collector in Asia for $600
on eBay.
Now obviously for the serious collector, your Apple II has to
represent history and thus can't be a kid-scarred beat up
Apple II unit with no manuals or software from a school.
The original Apple II has the distinction of being relatively low
production and old. This means that there were originally
only 100,000 to begin with and many have travelled the school
path to the dumpster. This leaves fewer and fewer truly
collectable ones (like new condition with all the original stuff).
That's why I'm thinking of hopefully finding a new in the box
IIGS and keeping it for many years. Eventually, such a
pristine IIGS will become museum quality!
