Newbie Question

Hi Folks,

My son wants me to buy him a Mac, and wants Microsoft Office for the Mac
as well.

A friend of mine once explained how he takes his Microsoft Office for
Windows files home (from his office) and accesses them on his Mac (so
that he can them use them on his version of Microsoft Office for the
Mac).

He told me that there was a program that was needed to "mount" PC disks
on a Mac (so that the Mac could read the files). Unfortunately, my
friend has moved and I can't remember the name of the program.

All it did was allow a person to mount PC disks on a Mac. (It didn't do
anything else, like file conversion or anything). This was years ago.
I don't know if they still make it.

I remember that when he placed a PC disk in his Mac, that a diskette
image appeared on the desktop that said "PC" (I think).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Max
