Thanx for all the responses. I have tested the 2e in the diagnostics mode.
It does not appear to have a problem. (How does one know if the mem card in
the "aux" slot is working or not?)

If  anyone would be willing to part with copies of ProDos and/or DOS 3.3, I
would be
more than happy to reimburse for the cost of mail, disks, and your time.
