The Big Apple Users Group is a computer club in NYC for users of Apple II
and compatible computers. We will be holding our annual Pizza SIG at
John's Pizzeria at 260 West 44th St., between Broadway and 8th Ave., in
Manhattan, in the theater district, at 6:30 pm on Monday, August 23. The
Pizza SIG is a social get-together where we can eat and talk, but not at
the same time. The menu is not restricted to pizza.

Polly Bookhout, editor of our newsletter, the Big Apple Users Digest
(BAUD), refers to the restaurant as a heavenly environment. To quote her
from the newsletter:

"SIXTH ANNUAL PIZZA SIG

It is most appropriate that worshipers of the Apple II should meet at the
former Gospel Tabernacle. And, as we have found appropriate use the
antediluvian computers, so the John's Pizza empire has found an equally
appropriate use for this former tabernacle, built for evangelist Albert B.
Simpson in 1890 when the street was lined with row houses, not theaters,
and it was in Longacre Square, not Times Square."

You are welcome whether you are a novice or a power user.

By the way, our regular meetings will resume at 6:30 pm on Monday,
September 27, 1999, at 345 West 58th St., Apt 5L, next to the Coliseum,
just west of Columbus Circle.

PS - I hope the distribution is helpful, as we don't wish to bother people
outside our area with our posting. Does anyone know if there are any
codes which should be used to designate geographic areas. Also please
tell us if you are out of our area but prefer to see what user groups are
posting.
