Checking all the DNS numbers, modem init string etc and getting a good
PPP connection, I select telnet and it asks to:? I type: chebucto.ns.ca
and press return. It replies: looking up chebucto.ns.ca...found, opening
connection [OA-E=echo ESC=close].......
.....and I sit and wait. 20 attempts at waiting 4 minutes each attempt
(better part of an hour). No logins page or prompts, no error
messages. The only key that will work at this time is ESC to close the
connection (which never opened to begin with). :-(
I am running a ROM01 GS, System 6.0.1, GUPP 1.07, various cdevs and
da's (just the regular stuff - GSCII+, Shadowrite, Balloon - nothing
strange or experimental and no screen savers). Could something be
interferring with the telnet application? Are there known conflicts?

They checked their numbers and they were the same ones they had already
given me.
I'm stumped! :-(
