Focus 500! Have not heard of that model before-- good to know about.
My experiments with FOCUS DOS eventually led me to scrap it. The system does not
seem to provide a whole lot of pretection against disk trashing should some DOS or
custom DOS routine take control and try to write to selected sectors.
On our 80MB Focus, having a root directory bombed would be very annoying; but,
nearly everything is backed up on Zip or on the PC. On your 500MB Focus, a trashed
directory could be a near disaster.
There is no entirely safe way to run collections of DOS 3.3 disks from hard disk
on a IIgs. This probably explains why Apple never offered a complete DOS 3.3 FST in any
version of System.
DOS 3.3 Launcher looks like the safest approach, especially if you move the images
to 3.5" diskette or RAM disk for running.
