I personally only had the luxury of using a Koala Pad at school.
I use my iPad with GoodReader for reading all sorts of A2 PDFs you
guys have generously taken the time to scan and make available online.
I'm currently browsing the Hardcore Computing collection, exposing
myself to a segment of A2 history I did not know about as a child.
Earlier this year, I downloaded all of the KFest 2010 videos from
Vimeo and watched them on the iPad. Could I be doing all this on
another maker's tablet with a command line and easily replaceable
battery? Probably.
But, what I really was referring to was that by buying my wi^H^HCFO a
new closeout 16GB iPad for $349 at our local Mac dealer, I have
accomplished two things -- she's stopped asking for an iPhone 4 and
its hidden cost multiyear contract, and I have permission to get a
MacBook Pro. (Unfortunately, it's like Congress -- I have an
authorization, but no appropriation.)
