James,
I must take exception to this. Charles Turley's personal life is
irrelevant to me, and I believe it is irrelevant to 99.9 percent of
those who read csa2.
No, the roots of this matter have nothing to do with Turley's personal
life, and everything to do with the way he has repeatedly treated people
with disrespect and lack of courtesy, which was exemplified in his
recent lifting of Apple II users' posts, without their permission, from
another online service for his personal Web 'zine.
James, if you'd like another example of the type of things that have
made so many folks take offense at Turley's behavior and actions, go
back and read Dave Tribby's post to this thread. Dave is among the most
professional, mild-mannered and objective guys who frequent this place,
yet he was also stung recently by Turley's lack of respect, courtesy,
ethics and responsibility.
Please don't try to cloud this issue with charges of "Nazi-ism",
homophobia or anti-gay discrimination. And if you're offended by
Quantum_Cat's posts, just filter him out. Remember, there are many of us
who find Turley's actions far more objectionable than one anonymous
poster's vulgar railings.
