Oh dear. A cow orker of mine worked in the States for 5 years, and
returned a couple of years ago; he was telling me about it. Basically he
earned less than his American colleagues, but for him it was a pay rise
(and a not inconsiderable one, iirc). And because he was on a military
project, he always had the latest equipment, etc. etc.

I wouldn't mind being some of that "cheap labour" over there. It sounds
a lot better than being averagely paid over here. But that being the
case, you have to wonder about the US's standard rates...
