Goto lynx.browser.org, select online help then select help for beginners.
Search for Yahoo, and follow that link.  This will tell you why Yahoo mail
is evil.  :-(  I'm not sure if this will be the problem with other web
based e-mail services though.  For those, I suggest using the latest version
of Lynx since the cookie support is much better.  But that implies that you
have control over such matters.  Alas, most of us don't have the space to
install our own version of Lynx on our shell account.
