Emulator

I've downloaded a couple different Apple 2e emulators.  I've only had luck
with one:  ApplePC.  My problem is I don't know what files will work with
the emulator.  So far I have only gotten .DSK images to run (the little icon
on my computer looks like a disk).    I have downloaded several different
images...Frogger for example...but it's extension is .PRO and I don't know
how to make the emulator run it.  I have also seen .gz or something.  Please
help me understand the different formats and how I can use them with the
emulator.
