Make 2e disks from PC

Forgive me...I know this is posted time and time again but I need to see it
ONE MORE TIME!!  ;-)

There are TONS of 2e disk images on the net.  Of course, I need to get them
on 5.25" disks so I can use them on my 2e!!  How can I do this??  I need
communication software on both ends?  Give me a specific program title that
I can download from the net.  I do not have a modem with my 2e.  Do I have
to get one?  I have a cable I use to establish direct-cable connections
between parallel ports on my PC and laptop.  Can this be any good?  The 2e
has a Super Serial card.  I see several types of disk images (ie. the
extensions are different like .pro, etc.)  What's the difference and which
one do I need to get to copy it onto disk?
