Two questions here, I asked them before but cannot remember if they were
fully answered...the GV TelePort series modems from 2400 to 33.6 were
(with a few exceptions, yes) powered by plugging them into the ADB port.
Will this work correctly on a IIgs? Also, I never went ahead and tried
using one (a Teleport hooked up to a mac) without the drivers
(Global...something or other) at that point in time, but I've been told
that certain GV TP modems utilized the computer's processor for some of
the load of data transfer and compression (like the GeoPort TA, I
suppose)...so I suspect that the higher rate GVs wouldn't work...however,
the Bronze is only 2400 so I guess there wouldn't be a problem, barring
the ADB issue. But I guess it doesn't need any sort of identification or
recognition for that, just the dumb sucking of power.
