I had to read it twice to figure out what was going on, and I'm savvy to Apple
II stuff. I can imagine what the original poster thought was going on. It
served no purpose and was not by one iota funny to me.

It is best when people follow newsgroup guidelines, but getting bent out of
shape when they don't is not helpful. And the reverse never happens, I assure
you. The last time I noticed was when someone asked in one of the Mac groups
asking how to connect a hard disk to a //e. Not only did no one complain,
several people chimed in with info. Lots of the Mac crowd started out on
Apple IIs of course.
