Re: Pirates of Silicon Valley
What you say MAY be true, but that is not necessarily what I was referring
to. For a start Gates lied to IBM about having the OS when he didn't even
know what it was, or who had it. Not very honest...... Also his obsession
with trying to steal anything he possibly could from Apple. I don't ever
remember ANYONE, ever accusing Steve Jobs of wanting to steal something from
Microsoft, in fact that idea is laughable. But my biggest gripe over Gates'
honesty is the way he has conned the world over Windows 95/98. It really is
a poor OS, and having used it for years, it was a great relief that I was
able to go back to the MacOS especially the latest version which is just
excellent. This has nothing to do with advocacy or bias. I have tried both
and know which is the better system. There is NOTHING I can think of about
Windows that is better than the MacOS... from personal experience. The
technical jargon and so on that has dominated this thread is irrelevant, it
is the user interface and user experience that matters. I reiterate a
comment that I made in an earlier posting that a 400MHz K6 Compaq Presario
running Win98 takes longer to open "My Computer" than it takes for my 400MHz
G3 to open Netscape. Also it takes longer to open a folder on the same
Compaq than it does an old 120MHz PPC Mac I have. I rest my case.
