Problem with Apple IIc...for anyone who wants to help...

I have an Apple IIc that I just got recently, it is one of the earlier
models (label is printed instead of embossed on the base, and the serial
number is musch shorter). Anyway, the problem _seems_ to be in the
keyboard, whenever you hit a key, it will act as if you hit it many times
in rapid succession, so it gives you 16-25 of the same character. Some of
the keys will only print two or three characters and then cause it to
repeatedly beep. I had thought that the problem was in the keyboard unit
itself, so I swapped it out with the exact kind of keyboard from another
IIc I had, but to no avail. I looked at the switches on the keyboard and
they do not appear to be getting stuck, perhaps something was spilled on
it at one point, it was very dirty when I got it and there are some light
brown stains on the pcb itself, but nothing really looks damaged.
Basically, I guess I'm just wondering what parts I should look to try and
test or replace? Other than the keyboard, everything seems ok.

I looked around but didn't see a clearly marked keyboard IC on the main board...
