Wow.  I have an AMD K6-2 400 beside my IIe as well.
Scary.  Anyway, best action game is still Sabotage.  This
is closely followed by H.E.R.O., Crisis Mountain and Dino
Eggs and of course Galaxian/Alien Typhoon from that Suzuki
guy.

Bard's Tale and/or Wizardry.

Bolo.  Ok, so that's more action but I forgot to mention it
above.

They all were educational.  I learned lots about
programming by trying to duplicate the quality of those
action games.
