Re: Apple Image writer 2 printer driver question
Rumour has it the C. Itoh 8510 driver works with Apple dot matrix printers (I
saw this somewhere in the maze that is Apple's website). I picked up some
ancient Apple 9-pin dot matrix printer (it has a parallel interface, ca.
1983), and the C.Itoh driver worked and printed TrueType fonts as beautifully
as a 9-pin printer can. The same driver is said to work with Imagewriters
(and presumably the Imagewriter II), but you must keep in mind that the
Imagewriters are serial printers. You'll need to obtain a mini-8 to DB25
serial cable and maybe a null modem adapter - can't remember - and connect it
to either COM1 or COM2. DOS printing to serial printers is tricky, but it
might work.
