Ok, thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for that unit.
On a related note, I'm been meaning to look for a combination cable, having both a D-25 (for external devices) and IDC-50 (for internal devices, more than one preferred) so I could keep my SCSI drive internal, and at the same time, attach an external SCSI CDROM/DVDROM device. Anybody heard of such? What bus adapter are you using? Ramfast? Something else?Just a standard Apple hi-speed SCSI card. I suppose I could wire up a standard cable with multiple IDC-50 connectors and add a DB-25 and IDC-26 on the ends, but I was looking for something off-the-shelf. Maybe MC Price Breakers would make one?
Since the card has a 26-pin header and you need a DB-25 on the rear panel, bridging out to 50-pin IDC connectors is going to be an interesting fabrication issue. It will involve slicing the 26-line ribbon cable to separate essentially all of the individual wires (since the 50-pin strictly alternates signal and ground, IIRC) and aligning them with the correct locations on an IDC-50. Not my idea of fun, but not rocket science either. A commercial cable fabricator would be the way to go if not too costly.
Keep us posted? Steve
