I also have a //c. I don't have my tech. ref. handy so that rom number
doesn't help. Do you know if it's the original or unidisk capable version. I'm
assuming it's not the //c+.
Almost every //c I've seen or worked on which had the unidisk revision was
patched by Apple computer. I suspect this patch is your problem. Surprisingly
even the models sold as new //c with the unidisk capabilities were patched.
They did this until they came out with the slot 4 ram model. What they would do
is take the old board and give you a revised one then take the old board and
patch it and pass it on... I have one here with the first model MB that way as
well as one of the production models done that way.
Anyway, if you want to look at the board you can check to see if anything came
loose. Also there is an ic on there which was purposely disconnected on one
leg. Make sure nothing is shorting that. Probably you will have to replace the
MB. Not too hard once you get the case open. I've found some decent deals on
the net. Check with Tom Turley he might still have one or too real cheap.
