Mitchell etal,
Have tried yesterday to change the sleep interval on my 1GB Jaz drive
to the max of 1 hour.  I used my Mac Powerbook and the associated
Iomegaware to do the work. It is clear that the sleep interval is
controlled by 'software' rather than a hardware change.  While 'sleep'
can be changed on the mac, the settings DO NOT continue when the drive
is moved to the IIgs- which is what I presumed.  I primarily use
Appleworks (8 bit) and the drive definitely powers down in 15 minutes
(actual factory settings).  The only way to keep it 'alive' is to
goose the drive at 14 minute intervals per the macro listed above.  I
haven't tried GSOS proograms to see if the 'sleep' interval is the
same.  Maybe GSOS 'checks' the drives periodically.  Mitchell, are you
using 16 bit (GSOS) stuff primarily?  Do you experience the 'sleep'
issues??  Can you advise rthe rest of us?
