     That's weird-- all this time I thought modern PC and Mac power supplies never
burn out. (Technically, this is an Apple II newsgroup-- not Mac or PC. You are more
likely to get expert help on a Mac group such as comp.sys.mac.system.)

     If you have the specs for the bombed power supply, you may be able to find a
good replacement at Jameco or MPJA for a lot less than an official PS from Apple:
