Yes, it is possible.  Mac monitors and SVGA monitors can both be
run off the second sight.  The Mac monitor needs a different cable,
but otherwise it is the same.

You don't need a driver.  The Second Sight will support the IIGS
video modes.  The SVGA modes (640x480 at 24-bit color or
1024x768 at 256 colors or other combinations that fit in the Second
Sight's 1MB memory) are supported by individual software that
are Second Sight aware.  DiscQuest and DiscQuest Encyclopedia
(IIGS CD-ROM reference software) support the SVGA modes
as do several GIF, JPG, IFF, and PICT viewers for the IIGS.  I
think the SuperConvert 4 image conversion program and the
Spectrum terminal/web browsing/file transfer program supports it
too.  Several games also support the SVGA modes.

A IIGS programmer is working on a patch to IIGS QuickDraw
that will let the higher Second Sight resolution work with ALL
IIGS desktop programs that use QuickDraw.
