Re: scond sight?
I guess you'll have to decide whether a Second Sight card makes any
sense to you personally.
The problem is the Second Sight card is unsupported. The main thing
the IIgs would need is a patch to the IIgs's QuickDraw tool so that
programs could automatically use the Second Sight's abilities. As is
there are a few pic viewers and a couple of games that have been
written to take advantage of it.
The Second Sight card will run SVGA or VGA monitors and and
Apple monitors they advertise as Multi Synch or Multi Scan. It'll also
run the regular IIgs monitor at a bit higher resolution.
The first thing I noticed on plugging in a Second Sight card was that
all those horizontal lines were gone. The screen will be a bit crisper
however it'll stay the same and as the monitor gets larger so will the
pixels.
Many have said the design of the card could have been more advanced
and they're all correct. However the main problem is the card came out
2 or 3 years too late. A bit earlier and even if QuickDraw didn't get
patched a lot of programs might have supported it themselves.
