If you look around epay much, you see that everything is "rare" or
"collectible." Dishonest people try to convince the gullible to bid more
than stuff is worth. And they make preposterous claims sometimes. I consider
epay an absolute last resort for anything. I've only used it to get hard to
find laserdiscs which I can't get otherwise. The most common words used to
gouge the gullible in that area are "rare" and "out of print." It really
pays to do your homework if you're gonna try the auction approach.
As a practical matter, how often does your equipment break down and need the
replacement of components? I have more IIgs CPUs and monitors than I can
hope to use in the basement, but only since I got deals on 'em.
