Need help with IIgs Sound format, Sierra game.
Hi...a while back, I had mentioned a universal AGI interpreter being
worked on...well, it's fairly universal (as universal as C is...dunno
about how feasible it would be to port to IIgs...besides, we already have
every AGI game that came out (Well, maybe one or two missing but they
weren't that good, and rest assured the IIgs version is leaps above almost
every other <well, I still need to check out the Atari ST and Amiga
versions..>))
Oh, BTW, AGI is the system used by sierra for there first series of -Quest
games, mostly all of the ones involving typed input (every IIgs Sierra
game was AGI, except for non-Adventure games like silpheed or thexder)
Anyway...after showing the others how wonderful the IIgs versions sound
(if you've ever had to play a DOS version, it's horrible. 1 voice, and a
crappy white noise generator...if you had a tandy or equivalent, you could
have 4 voices, but still) they all agreed that quite possibly, the IIgs
versions were the best sounding. They have added support for the IIgs
sound samples, but the music data is unusual, none of us can figure it
out. Anyone care to help with this?
Here's a sample, the KQ1 theme...
