Disk II converter for IIc, compatable with IIgs or IIc+?

I have a small device from Jaamco that I used to use on a IIc that has a
20 pin connector for a Disk II and a 19 pin connector for the drive port
on a IIc.  It is a very small wire to wire converter with no electronics
at all and I have used this both on a Laser128 and a IIc without
problems.
My question is this, can anyone know if this will work on the IIgs or
the IIc+ computer without harm?  Again this is a pin converter device
that allows one to use a single DiskII 5.25" drive on the IIc drive (Db
19) port.  I am just a little leary about trying it on my IIgs or IIc+
for fear of shorting out the drive controller.  The original packaging
said it was Laser128/IIc compatable but that documentation is long gone.
