Actually only the first year or so had the spray on type. That'd be from
the first production in Jan '83 until thee end of the year. Right at the
start of '84 they switched to plastic and italic keys. My August '83 vintage
had the spray finish of course.

They both discolor badly. Beige turns an awful yellow color while grey
turns beige. Strangely enough, white like on //c's turns beige when it's
bad enough. They all want to be the original Apple color when they get old I
guess. My one owner signature edition IIgs has never seen sunlight since I
take very good care of it. Hence there isn't a hint of discoloration on it,
and it's on the brink of twelve years of age.

You won't find 'em that way. I got all mine from people online. I have three
IIIs, and I built one using the best parts from all of 'em, using the best
cosmetic parts, the biggest memory expansion, and the lowest serial #. It's
in the 18000s, and it is said that 100000 were made. III pluses are far
more scarce, with probably 10000 made since they were in production for six
months. I have one of those too.
