Star Trader Betelgeuse
Anyone seen this lately. It was originally
programmed in Integer Basic in 1976.
Multiple players (human or computer) could
play.
Essentially you had a 10x10 grid (map of the galaxy)
which had a number of Stars (*) on it.
On any blank grid coordinate, you could make a
move when it was your turn by placing an 'outpost'
there.
When two or more outposts occurred, the person
who placed the last outpost proudly became the
owner of a new trading company in which other
players could buy or sell stock.
The play eventually came to a head at the end of the
game where smaller trading companies would
swallow bigger until at the end there was only
one company left.
Does this ring a bell??
