If I recall correctly, when Apple killed the Ethernet card they also
delayed release of the new version of GS/OS so that they could remove
all the Ethernet support software. If you check out:

     http://www.apple2.org

you will find an article by Tony Diaz there about the Ethernet card.
I believe it also lists the software that was removed from GS/OS
before it was released.

I'm still wondering why people would want USB on their Apple IIs.
Personally, I'd rather see a SCSI-2 or SCSI-3 card, an Ethernet card,
a better SVGA card or lots of other things. I could live without USB
all together.
