Binary files

I'm helping someone convert some old Applewriter text files to MSDOS.	
It turns out that Applewriter stored them as binary files, not ASCII.
I originally thought that "UtilityWorks" would import binary files, but
it turns out it doesn't.

I've got a couple of ideas about how to get them to ASCII (including
importing them to Magic Window, which will let me write them out as text
files) but before I "reinvent the wheel", does anybody here have a
suggestion on how to convert the files from binary to ASCII?

The rest of the process is easy for me.
