The Apple CD SC, CD SC Plus and CD-150 are all single speed. The CD-300
is double speed, CD-600 is quad speed, and later models refer to the
relative speed (4x, 8x, etc.)
The numbers for the 150, 300 and 600 refer to the transfer rate in
kilobytes per second.
Note that the SC, SC+ and 150 are the only models that are supported by
the Apple SCSI cards for audio CD support (unless you use third-party
software).
