Most programs should automatically dial for you. I know IN: The
Mailbox will if you aren't currently connected and Spectrum v2.2 has a
connect menu item and properly written scripts will autodial for you
as well.
By the way, you do know that you can drag Control Panels out of the
*:System:CDEVs folder onto the Finder's desktop and can double click
it from there, don't you? This would at least make it quicker to get
to the TCP/IP Control Panel.
There is also a program out there somewhere (sorry, I can't remember
what it is called) that will make your Control Panel menu item in the
Apple menu into a heirarchical menu so that you case bypass the
Control Panel dialog box which also makes getting to the Control
Panels quicker with the added benefit of being able to use this method
from in any desktop program that supports NDAs without having to try
to use The Manager.
