Slot 5 is called "Smart Port", not "Drive Port" (that is slot 6).

Don't forget to exit the control panel (saving changes) before
rebooting.

A much better idea is to reset all the Control Panel settings back to
their default values. This ensures you are starting from a known and
standard configuration.

To reset the settings:

1. Press Control-Option-Reset. (Hold down the Control and Option keys,
and keep them down while you press and release the reset key. The reset
key is the one at the top of the keyboard marked with a triangle.)

2. The computer should display a menu with four options. Pick either
option 2 or 3, according to the screen refresh frequency that is
appropriate (probably 60 Hz).

The computer will then reboot with standard settings, and should be able
to boot from the 3.5" drive.
