Connecting IIgs to Apple File Server 3.0.1

BEWARE: The following post contains questions about Apple IIgs and
Macintosh computers and/or software. If you can not handle reading a
message in this newsgroup that may/does include questions/comments about
the Apple family line of computers - grow up.

I have recently come across a copy of AFS 3.0.1. I remember way back to
when I was in school... (ahhh!) and we had a lab of GS machines (24 of
'em) that where connected to a Mac II using AFS 2.Xish and the Apples
were booted over LocalTalk. I've tried to repeat this little experiment
with my computers at home (Mac IIsi this time) to no avail. I can access
all of the 'shared' files when I use a workstation disk on the GS but I
can't boot over LocalTalk. I have installed the Apple II setup files but
the GS won't boot. here is a brief systems summary:

Computer: Macintosh IIsi
OS: Mac/OS System 7.1 (yeah it's old)
Software: AFS 3.0.1

Computer: Apple IIgs (ROM 01)
OS: GS/OS System 6.0.1 (workstation and installed on the Mac buy the
installer)
Software: None worth mentioning
Hardware: Zip GS (8mhz)
Control panel settings: Slot 1 - Your card (although it's really mine)
Slot 7 - AppleTalk
Boot Disk: Slot 7

If you have any ideas or suggestions on how to get this puppy working
I would be oh so very happy.

HOWEVER: I cannot receive email through this account. If you have any
ideas please post them to the newsgroup. I'm not kidding, any mail that
is sent here is rerouted to another account - I won't even know about it.
Any flamer that ignored my warning above - ha ha ha.
