3.6V. It is the same battery that's used in Advanced Photo
System (APS) cameras.

1/2AA at 3.0V? That's a little on the low side. Ask at your
drug store's photo counter for an APS battery. That's the
right type.

Probably to make money, of course! An APS battery should
cost about $7. Since you are soldering, you might as well
solder a holder for the battery. It is not a good idea to apply
too much temperature to a lithium battery. It might explode.
