     It's been a long time but it does seem like 'Medea always presented
problems. I do not know of any for-sure working versions.

     As you say, the 'pirate banner' version allows saves (to a
regularly-formatted DOS 3.3 diskette) whereas the non-banner version
does not. Perhaps the non-banner version tries to access the Save disk
using a modified DOS left over from the original copy protection. (It
would help to know how the Save disk was supposed to be created in the
original game.)

     The easiest fix may be to patch around the chasm crash. One
approach which may work is to compare the banner and non-banner .dsk
files looking for differneces which seem related to the game map.
