I can get the card to load up the first sector of the boot program
then it goes crazy and refuses to read. I'm going to do a trace
starting with the chips closest to the external drive pinouts (on the
card to the cable) and work from there. Worst part is desoldering
chips and putting in sockets for test on this old "slightly blistered"
board. Thank goodness chips have gotten faster and draw less current
today.

!!!HELP!!!!

I can find all the chips for replacement  but one. That particular 14
pin  IC is lime green (yuck) and marked CTS8651 with the
number760-5-R220/330/4 across it. Anyone identify this one. No
corporate markings are present.

All the other ICs have U for a designator on the printed circuit
board. This one has RN1 imprinted for its position on the circuit
board.
