Transfers between Intel and Apple computers

Hello fellow Apple II lovers.

Let me first of all tell you what hardware I have.
On one side I,ve got an Intel Pentium based computer which includes a
56KFlex Zoom modem flash updated to V.90 specification. This is the computer
that I use to hook up to the Internet.

On the other side I've got a Apple IIgs with an Applied Engineering 2400
baud internal modem.

This is my problem: The only software that I have for it are the Old DOS 3.3
and an Old copy of Pro-DOS v.1.0.2. I also have the software that came with
the AE modem that's based on Pro-DOS 8.
What I want to do is to download with the latest version of the system
software and a few other programs from the internet. Once again I'll state
that I will use the Pentium to download from the Internet.
O.K. once I've downloaded the software How do I get it to the Apple IIgs?

Looking at some of the ftp sites, they contain various archiving formats to
store the software (i.e. Shrinkit, .dsk , etc...)
My next question is how do I un-archive them? Where do I get those archiving
programs? And once again how do I transfer the programs to my IIgs?

Please If somebody out there would be kind enough to help me out, I would
really love to get my IIgs running again. Apple II rules! (B.T.W. an apple
II is the first computer I ever learned to program back in my highschool
days). Please try to give me as much detail in the procedure as possible. I
need to know the physical connection via modem or via serial ports, the
communication software that I need, because the Datalink software that came
with the AE modem does not have a null-modem setting. Or If it does and then
I don't know how to access it. Then the archiving software and finally the
system software itself.

Thank you so much, I know I'm asking for a lot, but I really want to get my
IIgs running.
