At least with my ROM 3 (or my ROM 1 for that matter), my Apple High
Speed SCSI card, my 6 meg AE GS-RAM+ memory card, and my ZipGS
(8Mhz), I do not have to turn off DMA. Of course, when doing file
copies of larger than a certain size (4 megs?) DMA will go off
automatically. The turning off and on is transparent to the user.
