This is precisely how the connector looks on my card (original version
with ZIL RAMs).  The ColorSwitch cable uses the middle ten pins,
ignoring the four outermost ones, and it appears the CGA one is the
same.

Since it is a multi-layer board, it is impossible to tell if these pins
go anywhere (they are not connected on the back of the board).

Which picture shows this?  The one on page 25 looks just like my card.

Ah - you are talking about the CGA cable itself (page 33).  The
staggered black spots are the backs of the cable crimp connectors, which
have to be staggered like this to make contact with the appropriate
wires.  The pins themselves (on the other side) will be arranged in the
normal rectangular grid.

The male connector used on the ribbon cable is unusually wide, but it
looks like a standard part, not a 14-pin header with the outer pins cut
off.
