I don't think he needs to worry about it. After all, he teaches a
language class, not a computer class.
Besides, the principles they learn on the Apple II will still make it
easier for them to use other computers now and in the future. When
they are using the IIgs machines they are using a user interface with
similar elements to the Mac, Windows, OS/2, XWindows, et al. When
they are using ProDOS 8 they are getting exposure to text based
environments like MS-DOS, Unix or any number of mainframe type systems
such as the VAX.
