AOL stopped support for the Apple II clients on 10/31/94.  So you can not get
on AOL using an Apple II no matter how hard you try.   And it wouldn't be
surprising these days  if nobody from AOL's Customer Service knew they even had
Apple II access at one time.  Four years is like a millienmium in the onlive
service business

AOL has also just dropped chat support (and one other feature I can't think of)
for early Mac (v1.x) versions and all of the PC  versions written for Geoworks.
 In fact,, unless you use versions 3.0 and up for either Mac or PC you will run
into problems geting into certain areas of the service.
